Italian Design in the Domestic Landscape

The term design has come to mean a complete system that extends beyond planning and includes the production and consumption of a product. The “design system” is therefore a balanced formula that brings together conception, technology, function, innovation, and aesthetics.
During the second half of the twentieth century, Italy reached the highest levels of international recognition, particularly in the fields of furniture and home furnishings. Design furniture and objects are conceived and produced independently of the spaces in which they will ultimately be placed. Although they are created to fulfill a specific function, they possess their own identity and autonomy, existing almost like sculptures within the domestic environment.
Two generations of designers, together with a group of outstanding companies, offer us an extraordinary legacy and an unparalleled vision for the future.
Tomorrow will inevitably be different.
